Asking a girl out on a first date: Single or Group?

So first off, I know on a first date it’s ideal to go single, just to get to know a girl well, but if both of the people are both quiet-natured, should I maybe try to get one of my friends and his girlfriend to maybe set up a casual date that me and my potential date could join in on? Going bowling ect. I’ve talked to her in school a good bit over 2 or so weeks and she’s talking alot more to me about about anything I ask, just generally opening up (which is a good sign from a shy girl), and I dont want to wait too long to ask, as I see guys all the time talking to her. I know she is at least a little bit interested, but she just sometimes seems timid around me, like she is unsure. Would it be a bad idea to ask my friend to set up a casual date with his girlfriend (they’ve been on a few dates before, so it’s not asking too much of him) in which I can ask my potential date to join us? Or would it be a bad idea, even though both of us are quiet natured?

Group activities - Aside from the house party, if you or that special girl does not feel comfortable going out with you alone, you can invite her to an activity with your friends. Go ice skating or go to an arcade or amusement park where you can talk to her casually and ask her out for a second date with just the two of you together.

Go to her important event - Make sure you find out which club she’s in or if she is performing at a recital or maybe hosting an art exhibit. Find an event that is important to her and try to come to it. Let her see you then come up to her and tell her she did great.
