Bristol Dating Venues

Bristol is filled with great date places where you can fan the flames of romance and sweep your special someone off his or her feet.

Browns on Queen’s Road is one such venue and features al fresco dining. You can have a rollicking good time here with your date or, if you are so inclined, you may choose to check out this place for a potential partner. Their wine list is impressive and features over 30 fine selections as well as a number of specialty beers.

For an extra special date, try out the super-stylish Byzantium on Portwall Lane. Its Casbah restaurant offers many culinary delights while the bar area is an excellent place to relax and chill out. The crowd is always well dressed and the mood is exhilarating.

Theatre lovers will enjoy Cast on St Augustine’s Parade, the Bristol Hippodrome’s incorporated bar. Theatre actors and actresses love to hang out here (as do directors and producers)and rub elbows with the ordinary folk.

If you’re single and looking, why not try speed dating so you can have a broad range of options, since you only have to spend five minutes with each “date” and get to meet dozens of people in an hour or two. The Pitcher and Piano on Canons Road is such a place. The environment is warm and friendly and so are the people. Who knows? This may be where you discover the man or woman of your dreams.

For the older singles who are still looking, there are two excellent venues that are tailor-made for you: the Bristol Active Social Club and the Bristol and Bath IVC. In addition, Bristol has many supper clubs and rotary clubs that you might want to give a whirl.

For a fun date in a venue of class and elegance, Babushka on Whiteladies Road is the place to visit. The venue offers several games that couples can enjoy together such as arcade machines and table football. There are deep and comfortable sofas in the bar area where you can snuggle and whisper in each other’s ears. The menu lists several bar snacks and a many fine delights.

For those certified party animals looking for a place that mirrors their mood, Bristol’s many bars may be just what the doctor ordered. There’s always a bar to satisfy what you crave for, whether you want to party in casual jeans or designer wear.

Several chic and modern bars and restaurants line Clifton and Southville and there are also a few traditional establishments around. For students and the younger crowd, head to Baldwin Street and Broad Street right in the heart of Bristol’s city centre to hangout with your generation.

Nowadays, one of the hottest clubs in the city is 139 North Street. Yes, that’s the name of the club and not just its address. A brainchild of club mogul Andy McCarthy, this club has won two of the region’s prestigious “Venue of the Year” awards. It succeeds other famous Bristol clubs such as The Farm and Cadbury House. At 139 North Street, resident DJs always have the place jumping with their hot tunes. It’s an excellent venue for getting your fill of pizza and beer.

Meanwhile, if you enjoy a venue with a sizzling hot DJ, check out Arc on Broad Street where many of Bristol’s rising young DJs can be found. Arc has a well-founded reputation for its imaginative use of electronic arts. The music here is always lively and sometimes surprising. It’s anyone’s guess what type of music or performance will take to the decks.

Bar Humbug on Whiteladies Road is a drinking place that serves exceptional cuisine, such as genuine and original Moroccan delights. Their extensive wine list features dozens of cocktails and many fine wines and other spirits.

For a double date or a night on the town with the gang, Henry Africa’s Hot House on Whiteladies Road does not disappoint. This is the place for hard partying in style. Their wine list is huge and their food delectable. Henry’s has been around for over 15 years and is credited by many as one major reason why Whiteladies Road has become one of the city’s premier party venues.

The gay community can also have a rollicking good time in Bristol, especially since there are many establishments that cater to their particular lifestyle. One of the most famous of these venues is The Elephant on St. Nicholas Street, the city’s oldest gay pub. Meanwhile, for more serious partying, the venue of choice is The Queen’s Shilling on Frogmore Street, the city’s unofficial centre of the gay scene that’s open seven nights a week. The dance floor is always crowded and the music, mostly popular chart and pop classics, is always hot. A little further down of Frogmore Street is another popular gay hangout called Vibes and it’s a huge venue with two bars and a big dance floor.

Women?S Self Defense And Blind Dates

Too often things can go horribly wrong on a blind date.  Situations like this require knowledge of women’s self defense.  There are ways you can protect yourself if you do not know physical techniques through martial arts.

These methods include carrying personal protection products such as stun guns, TASERs and mace with you at all times.

Blind dates are one of the most common ways to meet a new boyfriend. You might have a “friend”, that knows a “friend”, and then everything goes from there. The problem is that the “friend” that hooked you up for the blind date really didn’t know the person well and they might not even know their last name.

When you go on a blind date you put yourself in a vulnerable situation, especially if you don’t double date and your blind date is the one driving. You must carry protection on you. It is important to understand women’s self defense so you have the opportunity to get away from a bad situation if he does turn out to be a dangerous person.

Stun guns are an excellent product for women’s self defense. The way these work is that they send voltage through the body, which stops the impulses of the brain that make the body work, for a short period of time. These devices must be held against the person when you use them but they will immediately disable the attacker.  Stun guns are small devices and you can purchase ones that look like cell phones and other devices if you want one that is disguised. A stun gun is also non-lethal so you don’t have to worry about killing the person you stun.

The new TASER C2 is ideal for women’s self defense in that you can be 15 feet away from an attacker, use the TASER from there to incapacitate the assailant temporarily, and make your escape.

Another excellent product for women’s self defense is pepper spray.  Pepper spray can come in the form of a pen, a lipstick case, a pager, and more.  This way, by surprising him, you get the best opportunity to spray an attacker and get the best results.  Pepper spray burns hot and it is one of the most effective ways to disable an attacker so you have time to run.

There are many ways to protect yourself when you go on a blind date.  Most women assaulted on a blind date do not consider women’s self defense products until they have already been attacked.  They are disguisable and easy to use.  Stun guns, TASERs, and pepper spray are the best options because they are non-lethal and they will not kill the person when you get them.

These items could actually save your life.

The Dangers of Dating and How to Protect Yourself

Going on a blind date is actually a lot more dangerous than most women realize. Even if a friend or family member has met your date, who’s to say that the guy is truly who he says it is? Remember, the friend who set up the date may not really know this guy at all. She might not even know his last name!In fact, even if it’s not a blind date, how well do you really know this guy? Be aware of the possibility for danger, watch for warning signs, and carry self defense products so that you can keep yourself out of a dangerous situation.

When you’re first dating, it is very common to know virtually nothing about your date. This places you in a vulnerable situation. The first few dates are statistically more dangerous – that’s when a rape or attack is more likely to occur. On the other hand, can you really screen your dates beforehand to avoid this possibility?

During the first few dates, ask your date plenty of questions to get to know him. Be leery if he avoids personal questions, such as his occupation and where he lives. Consider looking your date up on social networking sites like Facebook or MySpace so that you can see what he’s like before your date. Still, don’t be lured into a false sense of security if your date appears to be normal from this superficial glance into his life. There could be a lot under the surface that you simply can’t find out about online.

One of the ways that you can make dating safer is by suggesting a group date or double date until you get to know each other a bit better. This will allow you to have a security net of friends with whom you are comfortable. If your date refuses to be around your friends, this is a warning sign. You may not want to go out with him if he’s only willing to see you alone. Another important move for your safety is to drive yourself to the date. You should never accept a ride from someone you don’t know well, even if he is your date. You never know what kind of dangerous situations this could get you in. Always pay attention to the body language of a date. While you can expect them to act nervously, warning signs include becoming angry or agitated at insignificant things. Many women don’t see the warning signs of body language until it’s too late.

Unfortunately, there is no concrete way to tell that a date might try to harm you until it’s happening. There are some very effective self defense products that you can use to protect yourself from harm. Pepper spray, stun guns, personal alarms, and other devices are invaluable in these types of situations, and can be easily carried in your purse. These self defense devices will disable an attacker long enough for you to get away. Too many women don’t even consider carrying these products until they’ve already been attacked once.

Resist Attack has a full range of stun guns both for families and security forces. Also check for garrett metal detector free shipping
